Before the concert started I met her mom who seemed to enjoy talking about her daughter (which was nice because I haven't had to speak much by myself). I like her open-mindedness and her cordial way.
The recital was great - I've listend to professional orchestras which don't play on such a high level. The performance was very dynamic and carefully conducted. I especially enjoyed the first half of the program with modern music (special program points I enjoyed to add). The second half started with a solo-performance on marimba - fantastic to watch a young boy of 14 playing. The applause lead to an virtous performed encore. The following musical melodies from starlight express were not of my taste but well performed, though.
After the recital we did some schomoozing before I drove back. I even met her boy-friend - and wondered why he was so shy. When emailing I never got this impression.
Here are some fotos I took before the performance during the break and afterwards (while waiting for Isa to get her bass packed).
